The villa dates back to the thirteenth-century, as evidenced by the cellar with its lowered barrel vault and the date 1273 engraved on the crowning of a fireplace. There were many noble families who owned the villa:
The Counts de Rubeis, who built the first building, the Di Castel Porpetto, the Frangipane, the Cristofoli and other famous people, such as the geographers Giovanni and Olinto Marinelli.
The seventeenth-century renovation is due to the Frangipane counts, lords of Tarcento, while the magnificent Palladian floors, the fine stuccoes, the doors with painted mirrors and the stone fireplaces witness a typically eighteenth-century allowance.
It is one of the best preserved building in the Friuli area and is a monument of national interest. It is currently owned by the Cher family.
